Dr Phua was a First Class Honors Chemical Engineering graduate from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He then obtained Master’s degree qualification from University of Illnois (UIUC, USA) sponsored by Merck (previously Schering-Plough) and EDB and gained a few years of pharmaceutical process and project engineering experience.
Dr Phua obtained his Ph.D degree in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University (USA) under the mentorship of Professor Kam W. Leong, an elected member of the National Academy of Engineering (USA). Dr Phua then joined NUS as an Assistant Professor of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, where he set-up his own laboratory focused on mRNA therapeutics and won highly competitive grants such as Young Individual Research Grant from National Medical Research Council.
Dr Phua has many years of experience in the field of cell and gene therapy and a track record of establishing successful research collaborations with local and overseas partners such as Duke-NUS (Singapore), TRON (Germany), National Taiwan, Centre de Biophysique Moléculaire (France) and local microneedle manufacturer Micropoint.
Quality Manager
Ms Jannah Yusof is an inspiring team player who motivates, encourages, and challenges the limits to achieve the target. She graduated from The National University of Malaysia (UKM) with a Bachelor of Science with Honours, majoring in Microbiology. Post graduation, she gained more than five years of working experience in cell and gene therapy industry and trained lab personnel working in a cGMP environment. She also successfully assist CGTP GMP accreditation from National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA).
She has vast experience in laboratory operation management and clinical research and a proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and with external customers.
With her professionals, Ms Jannah is responsible for developing and establishing a Quality Management System, Quality Certification and implementing StemiGen policies & procedures.
Production Manager
Ms Afiqah graduated from the University of Queensland (UQ) with a Bachelor of Biotechnology.
She has more than five years of working experience in GMP certified stem cells-based company. In her previous position, she managed and coordinated the overall activities of the production department. She is also responsible for continuously streamlining the production process and workflow to escalate the efficiency of production activities.
She also successfully acquired CGTP GMP accreditation by representing the production department during the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) audit.
Production Officer
Edgar earned his Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing) from Singapore Polytechnic (SP) and has a strong passion for the biopharma industry.
With 15 years of extensive experience in the biologics and Cell & Gene Therapy (CGT) sectors, he has held various technical roles at esteemed organizations such as Innocellular Tech, Cellvec, Prime Biologics, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), and Novartis.
